Morris and Killeen have both worked independently in television since the last century. Morris has focused on the behind the scenes technical wizardry while Killeen has alternately written, performed and presented on Australian TV since ‘big hair’ was fashionable. In 2002 Morris and Killeen met while working on Big Brother and in 2004 they created their first program. The team was formalised as GROD Productions in 2010.

In 2004 Killeen wrote and directed the documentary ‘Gretel's Gang and the African Wave’ with Morris in Zambia. Morris worked as cinematographer and editor on the documentary shot in only five days with a cast including Ezekiel Morgan and Epiphany Morgan. Constructed to raise awareness for UNICEF and the plight of AIDS orphans in Zambia the documentary was aired twice on Network Ten across Australia to much acclaim.
